Ideal

Ilam Homestead is ideal for outdoor wedding ceremonies and wedding receptions. Set amongst the famous azalea and rhododendron gardens and spacious grounds of the University of Canterbury, the historic homestead is a fine example of the gracious living of an era past.

Capacity

For seated receptions the upstairs dining room holds up to 100 guests comfortably. For finger-food receptions the downstairs lounges accommodate 130 guests comfortably.

License

Ilam Homestead is fully licensed and White Tie Catering have the catering contract, along with Moveable Feasts and Lizzies Cuisine.

Receptions

If you choose to have your wedding ceremony in the grounds our bar-staff will offer trayed drinks to your guests immediately after the service. If you are married in a church drinks will be offered as guests arrive at the Homestead and if fine the pre-dinner drinks and nibbles will continue to be served outside. A string or jazz trio could be playing on the verandah as your guests enjoy the garden setting.

The dining room is upstairs and throughout the meal our bar-staff will serve all refreshments. After dinner guests move downstairs and further drinks will be offered from the bar.

Dancing

All dancing is held in the North Lounge to your choice of either a live band, a disc jockey, a juke- box, your own selection of cd's or you can plug your ipod Mp3 player or Laptop into our system.

Time Limits

Bar service and music to midnight. Our license requires all out by 1a.m.

Charges

The hire charge of $1,000.00 covers all bar staff. A deposit of $500.00 is required on confirmation.
